UAE jack-up hired for offshore wind work in China

UAE offshore services provide Zakher Marine International has signed its first offshore wind installation contract for an unnamed project in the South China Sea.
Abu Dhabi-based Zakher Marine said the contract is valued at $110m (€92m).
It added that the contract ensures Zakher Marine's expansion into the renewables market and into China.
The company said its QMS Gladiator jack-up arrived in China on 10 March to carry out the work.
Zakher Marine managing director Ali El Ali said: "The contract underscores our leadership in providing jack-ups and offshore support vessel services.
"We are very proud to be the first company from the GCC to work closely with the Chinese government to provide jack-ups and testament that we are on track to deliver our growth plans, expanding into new geographies and renewables business.
"This is going to be the first of many, but it serves as a foothold for the group in this growing market."
